Apple 'Bramley's Seedling' is the most famous of all cooking apples. This tree originated in Nottinghamshire in the UK in the early 19th century and has gone on to become the number 1 cooking apple available. Bramley is a large vigorous tree that produces huge crops of very large green apples sometimes stripped with red. The flesh is firm, juicy, very acidic, with a strong apple flavour, making it perfect for cooking. The apples have excellent keeping qualities. Bramley's Seedling is Tripold - meaning that it requires two pollination partners, if all three are to produce fruit.
